How do you determine costs? Cost for every event is determined by a number of factors. Some of those factors include number of people/ministers needed to run the ministry event, annual cost of equipment, travel expenses, the required overhead costs of the ministry.
Will you do non-evangelistic events? Yes.
Where do honorariums go? All money given to Reach Your City, beyond reimbursement for travel expenses, etc, goes to the salary of our ministers, staff and the building of current and new creative ministries. The actual personal income we receive after all expenses are paid is not much. A great deal of the funds are re-invested so that we can reach more people with the gospel. Many of people in the ministry raise support to help them make ends meet.
How did Reach Your City begin? Reach Your City began in 1999 under a different name to provide financial integrity and accountability to just one traveling speaker. The concept was so unique and we found that so many people needed help in fulfilling their call to traveling ministry that the mission was expanded, the name was changed, and great things have been happening since.
In what parts of the world does Reach Your City travel? We travel primarily throughout the U.S. and Canada. However, God has opened the door for several international ministry opportunities in places like Africa, South America, Australia, Korea, Japan, the UK, Denmark, Sweden, England, the Bahamas, etc. And we pray that God will continue to give us a growing international ministry.
How would you describe the internships? Our internships are a lot of fun and a great experience for anyone looking into fulltime ministry. The internship gives you greater leverage and confidence for working in a large church or with other Christian ministries. You can also learn skills that are applicable to the music industry, the sports and entertainment industries, and general business. The internships are also excellent for those wanting to go out on the road one day as a future "Reach Your City" speaker.
What if I want to work for Reach Your City but my gifts are not evangelism? Ephesians 4:11-12 answers that. We each have been given gifts that are to be used for building the Body of Christ. Some have been gifted in the area of business while others lie in the area of evangelism, pastors, teachers, marketing, speaking, accounting, etc. The key is to see the beauty of what you've been given and to use that no matter where God places you to make an impact for His Kingdom. There's a book called "Roaring Lambs" by Bob Briner that makes a good point..."go out and be the best for the glory of Jesus Christ."
